Sunday, Feb 15 Rev. Jodie Lingan, preaching and helping DCC prepare for Pastoral Search for Presbyterian pastor on this last Sunday of Epiphany, Transfiguration Sunday.
Book Club meets on Sunday, Feb 15th at 4:30 p.m. at the brick church. Hostess is Luann Bridle; Book is Unsheltered by Barbara Kingsolver. Please let Luann know if you plan to come, and if you know the dish you plan to share, please give that info to Luann as well.
Tuesday, Feb 17 5:00-7:00 p.m. Pancake Supper in the tradition of Shrove Tuesday/Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras–join us for homemade pancakes supper. Many of us will be enaging this celebration in memory of and gratitude for Marvin Cavanaugh. Come and feast with us as we move into the season of Lent the next day, Ash Wednesday.
Wednesday, Feb 18 ASH WEDNESDAY Service for the Imposition of Ashes will be held in the sanctuary, 11:30 –12:30. Pot of Soup, Bread and Fellowship around the table to follow the service in Fellowship Hall.
Saturday, Feb 21 WORKSHOPS: COMPANIONING GRIEF and SENTIMENTAL DECLUTTERING, 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively. Two one-hour workshops will be offered back-to-back and will make for a worthwhile and well-spent Saturday afternoon! These 2 informational sessions are further offerings of the Mental Wellness Initiative, and are open to the community. So please come and bring a friend. Meetings are planned for the Fellowship Hall, but if gathering is larger than that space, we will move to the sanctuary to accommodate everyone who comes, comfortably and safely. Sunday, February 22 FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT Join us as we begin a Lenten Series from A Sanctified Art–” Tell Me Something Good” and we explore new windows into the GOOD NEWS of God in Jesus throughout the Lenten Season.
Holy Week begins with Palm/Passion Sunday on March 29. Easter is the following Sunday, April 5. There will be special opportunities for engaging in worship, study, prayer and service throughout the 40 days of Lent. Pastor Lynne’s prayer is that you can embrace them, and engage in your personal spiritual formation in new, refreshing and transformational ways this season.
