Danbury Community Church held a traditional Moravian-style Candle Lovefeast on Sunday, Dec. 17th. Traditionally held in the DCC Chapel, the service was held for the 1st time in the brick church located at 617 N. Main Street in Danbury. A musical prelude featuring the New Danbury Cornet Band playing the original 1882 Danbury Cornet Band horns and music by our church pianists began at 6:30, with the service following immediately at 7:00pm. The service is primarily one of Christmas carols ending with the tradition of singing “Morning Star” with child soloists. Other special music by church musicians was included in the service, including the moving song, “Christmas in the Trenches,” this year performed by Joshua Shelton.
An offering benefitting East Stokes Outreach Ministries was collected.
