{"id":28,"date":"2023-03-06T04:37:42","date_gmt":"2023-03-06T04:37:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/danburycommunitychurch.org\/?page_id=28"},"modified":"2023-03-29T15:20:59","modified_gmt":"2023-03-29T15:20:59","slug":"a-word-from-our-pastor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/danburycommunitychurch.org\/","title":{"rendered":"A Word From Our Pastor"},"content":{"rendered":"\"\"Danbury Community Church is a union church located in the small town of Danbury in Stokes County, NC.\u00a0 Started by a small group interested in creating a new church that would combine the former Danbury Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) and the Taylor Memorial Methodist Church (UMC),\u00a0 DCC operates under under a Plan of Union adopted and approved by the PCUSA in 1984, and through by what appears to have been an oversight at the time, by the UMC in 1994.\u00a0 DCC upholds and celebrates the diversity and strength of both denominations.\n\nPictured here is the Danbury Community Church Chapel, a sacred space welcoming all into God\u2019s presence. Built in the early 1890’s as Danbury Presbyterian Church, and located at 300 N. Main Street in Danbury.\u00a0 Having been unused since COVID in 2019, the Chapel is currently undergoing extensive updates including painting, window repair and replacement, interior deep cleaning and floor refinishing so that it can once again be used for special services, events and other church functions.\n\nWorship<\/em><\/strong> is held Sundays at 11am<\/strong><\/em> at our Church building located at 617 N. Main Street in Danbury, the former Taylor Memorial Methodist Church. Parking is available on both sides of the building.\u00a0 A fellowship hall is located below the sanctuary with the entrance on the left (West) side of the church.\n\nAs our sign proclaims, “All are Welcome!”<\/strong><\/em> at Danbury Community Church.\n\nPlease come as you are!<\/strong><\/em> We have no dress code, so please feel free to come as dressed up as you please, or in jeans if you’d prefer.\n\nWe welcome children of all ages in our Sunday services!
